For Parents
Did you know?
The majority of babies are born long sighted.
Other interesting facts:
- The muscles around the eye develop in the first six months of life
- A baby needs to learn to see - obstacles such as congenital cataracts must be removed as soon as possible after birth else the baby will be blind even though the eyes are perfect
- A child's vision is fully developed by the age of 8, but problems such as short sightedness may develop right through your child's growing up
- Many eyesight defects can be inherited e.g. long or short sightedness
